Episode 532 - Coronavirus and running
On this week’s show we talk about the impact of the coronavirus on the race calendar and running in general and offer some practical advice and positivity to help you ride the storm, we talk to parkrun COO Tom Williams about his full on week, Tony’s got a few training ideas, You rate your runs and share your marathon talk kit around the world and your relentless positivity.
This is an unprecedented situation across the globe and in the UK. We don’t quite know how to respond. Things are changing rapidly.
This affects everyone. All of us. We believe we have a responsibility to each other.
We’ll do our best to keep you company when you run (and when you don’t) - but forgive us if we don’t always get it right. These are stressful times.
We’ll try to be our normal upbeat and positive selves whilst also acknowledging the seriousness of the current situation and the many people it impacts every day.
We love our Marathon Talk community and remind you to keep up with the Government’s guidelines and advice for your own health and importantly the health and lives of those around you.
Please look after yourself, each other, your families and especially those more at risk.

Some thoughts on running at the moment.
We love to run as much as you but things are different.
Many of you may be fearful and anxious. We understand.
Running can really help us maintain a sense of normality and rhythm in our lives. If you’re able to, and want to still run then here are some of our thoughts, but please, they are just that, to help you use your running to support your mental and physical health.
We're joined by parkrun COO (and co-host!) Tom Williams.
A few thoughts on things to try!
Please stay safe. Look after yourself and others. Love you all.
Thank you Tom Williams for a chat, our wonderful production and social team and you, our listeners, for another episode of Marathon Talk.
