In short:
4th marathon and the most fun by a country mile! Starting off in the countryside in half decent weather, 33km in you hit the Ponte Della Libera (bridge of freedom) and the rain starts beating strongly in to your face, aided by the 20-25 mph head wind! Finally, and the best bit - the last 3km were entirely underwater with the acqua alta high tide! Apparently the highest it has ever been in 33 years for the marathon. In summary - the best race ever!! Yuki came 7th, I was a bit behind him ;)

In short:
An epic adventure that ended with more than 3k in "high water". 9/10 even with this questionable time. (Before you read the rest I apologies for my bad English)

In full:
An epic adventure that ended with more than 3k in "high water". After several years of struggling with injuries and health issues and after the bad results of 2017 Florence marathon due to bad weather and bad form, yesterday it feels to me like a renaissance! Struggling with strange weather conditions (driving rain, hot&humidity, strong wind, rain again and, to finish, the tidal-flood of Venice) and with the icy water of the sea, has been nothing to me compared with the joy to return back to marathon in a semi-decent shape and the fun of 3 km of bare feet running with the sea water at my knees while crossing the edge of San Marco square!
