In short:
Glorious marathon!

In full:
My friends had raved about this one, bullied me into going (even entering for me so I couldn't not go!) Sadly and accident at work on Tuesday meant that I nearly pulled out before the start, swore I couldn't finish at 4 miles, but was persuaded to walk the hills so we could get around. It is the most stunning race I have ever taken part in! Brilliantly organised and well supported by the locals. My slow time this year means that when I come back I should manage a course PB!

In short:
Tough, hilly, scenic, and with a mile of waterslide to finish!

In full:
Very wet underfoot and quite chilly to start. At times it was lonely out on the course but that just made it easier to take in the beautiful scenery. The usual hard slog up from Waunfawr was followed by a treacherous steep last mile on waterlogged grass and gnarly rocks back down to Llanberis. After a bit of a luge, picking up a few cuts and grazes, tottered down the rest of the hill to finish 15th overall. Hoping to be back and better (and more upright) next year.
