In short:
Wet, windy and wonderful :)

In full:
As a triathlete with the run as my weak spot, and having stress fractured my cuboid last year trying to get faster, I decided 2018 was the year to take a different approach to conquering my demons on the run... so I decided to go long, or go home! Training went fairly well, and I just about felt recovered from Challenge Prague 70.3 when I lined up on Sunday. No sooner had we rounded the first corner, it was 3-4km uphill to really wake up the legs and lungs - ouch! From there I was determined to stick to my plan of 5:15mins/km but somehow with the lovely scenery and a few other runners to chat to I felt comfortable going slightly faster. My old lady knees started to really hurt with 10 miles to go and the last 4 miles were like running into a carwash, but I managed to cross the finish line with a smile on my face and a sense of real achievement in my heart. I ran this for my cousin Paul, who sadly took his own life in 2012 age 23, and who would have turned 30 the day before the race. Thank you to all of my lovely sponsors who helped me to raise over £1200 for Papyrus prevention of young suicide, to all the volunteers who helped to make a flawless race, and to the other Paul in my life (my boyfriend, coach and best friend) who helped me to get to a time I'd never have thought I'd have been able to achieve in a million years. Oh, and to Marathon Talk for making the long runs more bearable :)
