This is an event unlike any other. A stone cross stands in the centre of the England; in Meriden. It has stood for 500 years. 100 prisoners will gather around that cross, late into the night, and will wait for midnight to come and go. Then, they will be released and must Escape from Meriden… Use any route you dare, and run. Run as far away, and as fast as you can, for 24 hours (36 if entering the "chained" category), then the sands of time run out. Escape solo or as a pair.

In short:
79 miles escaped from Meriden, just over 60 miles as the crow flies which got me a gold medal.

In full:
Brilliant event, ran, walked, crawled for nearly 24 hours. My route took me along canals through towns (Bham, Wolverhampton, Telford & Shrewsbury). Occasionally bumped a few other participants including some doing the pairs chained version. Got some funny looks and comments due to orange boiler suit that escapees had the option to wear. Great support online from family and friends and a couple who came out to see me. Now slightly achy but still smiling 10/10.
