In short:
Perfect day for running the 40th Dublin Marathon. It was Cold & Dry with no wind. Set off with the 3:10 pacers and I hung on until the Wheels came off with 2 miles to go, narrowly missing a sub 3:10. Not complaining however as I got a 12 minute PB & a Boston qualifying time. All this despite getting clipped by a spectator on a bicycle crossing the course.

In short:
My first marathon after nearly ten years of running. Started conservatively and upped the speed gradually. Last two miles were awful but I knew I was almost there. A beautiful day, cold and sunny, with amazing support out on the course.

As a long time runner, my dream was to go sub-4, but I didn't really think I could achieve it. But I stuck to the training plan and trusted the process, and on the day I felt strong and enjoyed the whole thing. I also tried Kipchoge's trick of smiling to try and run relaxed - it worked!

Wanted sub 3:40 but the wheels fell off at 16miles! Grinned and beared it to finish just inside 3:46. Amazing crowds and a beautiful sunny day.

Dublin Marathon, the best Marathon experience outside of London, superb support from the marshals and a long overdue new PB of 3:08:31

Thanks a million Dublin, you did yourselves proud.

It really is the self styled friendly marathon - crowds were fantastic, atmosphere warm, weather cool and to cap it all I was 1 second faster than six months earlier at Manchester!!

In short:
Irish Eyes were smiling on us all in the Sunshine. A wonderfully organised, greatly supported marathon. I was lucky to pace my friend on her first marathon so together we cheered, thanked everyone and smiled away the miles. A Great Marathon! We completed in 3.18 02/03

Dublin Marathon was always on my list as it was my friend Ruth's favourite. It is a brilliant one! You run through the city, park, see some history and brilliant crowds. There is a few hills so not quite a pb course but plenty of running sMiles. We were able to maintain 7.34 all the way round. A great day!
