In short:
Best race this side of 40 yrs....

In full:
Been waiting all year for this this one! To date having run 2273 miles this year over the course of two build-ups I wanted this to be special. Turned 40 last month, finished my race sub 3 and bagged a 7 minute PB/P- ARRRRR (have fun with that). I'd say it's been a good year, and (in my best english accent) I'm over the moon with the result. Appreciate all you guys and and the Gals do on the pod! Keep us moving forward! PS I don't know how to find pork pies in the US but I admit I'm intrigued...wonder if I'll have to come across one day to try a few...i think with pickles please

In short:
The running gods smiled upon the California International Marathon, bringing blessedly-chilled air with no wind, rain, or humidity. After taking two months off this summer to recover from a repetitive stress injury on a metatarsal, I came back faster than ever with a huge seven and a half minute PR.

In short:
Net downhill does not mean easy! The rolling hills were tricksy. But I got a 32 min PB and it was my first post kids standalone marathon. Overall very pleased!

In full:
This was my first post-kids, standalone marathon and I was aiming for sub 4:30. I started too fast, but somehow actually kept that pace up until the last 7km. The wheels fell off at 35k but I held on to get a 32 min PB. And if anyone tells you that CIM is downhill so it's easy, they are just plain wrong. It might be a net downhill but the rolling hills make it tricksy.
