Big Island International Marathon
- Hilo, HI
The course started in the dark at 6 AM with an 16 mile out and back running some old Hawaiian roads, including many single lane bridges, through the many beautiful gulches up the Hamakua Coast. Then the last 10 miles were back in Hilo on the shoulders of busy roads open to traffic. Overall it was a bit hillier than expected with ~1400 ft of elevation gain but I am more than happy with my result of 7th overall.
