This will be the 4th annual Marathon Talk Run Camp and each year we have a whole heap of fun, as much running as you want to do, good company and a great environment for a social, informal running weekend away.
When – February 10th/11th/12th 2017.
Where – Sandy Balls Holiday Centre, the New Forest, Hampshire
How much – £185.00 per person
The weekend kicks off with arrival on the Friday night (or Saturday morning if you’d prefer) and will be packed full of activity until Sunday afternoon.
You can stay for 1, 2 or 3 nights (but the cost is the same).
Accommodation is in Sandy Balls ‘Lodges’. Each lodge sleeps 4 – 6 people*
What will we do?
On Saturday morning it’s customary for us to be parkrun tourists and pop along to one of the local parkrun in Brockenhurst or Moors Valley.
There will also be a group coaching workshop on Saturday followed by a training session outside in the forest. All of our runs will be suitable for everyone, cater for all abilities, as hard or as easy as you want them to be. We’ll focus on looking after each other and having fun.
On Saturday you’ll get a buffet style meal after training in the evening followed by an evening of Marathon Talk style entertainment and a special star running guest presentation / Q&A.
On Sunday morning we’ll have several options for group runs in the forest (different paces, different distances) and these will be perfect for spring marathon build up.
Post run a Sunday carvery will be provided.
There is a swimming pool, cafe, restaurant and pub on site!
The camp closes on Sunday afternoon but you’re free to stay at Sandy Balls until departure on Monday morning.
We’d love to see you at this years Run Camp. It does sell out pretty quickly so if you want to come and have a great weekend of running and laughing with like-minded, friendly people then book soon!
*These are ‘cabins in the woods’. They are basic but brilliant for runners. It’s relaxed and informal and accommodation is on a shared basis. Rooms are either double or twin rooms. Don’t panic – you won’t be sharing with anyone in a double room (!) unless you request it at the time of booking and twin rooms are always shared with same gender. Please advise on booking if you are coming as a group and we’ll do our best (but it might not always be possible!) to put you in the same lodge or lodges close together. If you’re coming on your own, that’s just fine too. We’re all normal people (almost).
* Families – if you’d like to bring your family and reserve an entire lodge then please contact me direct and I’ll see if I can help. You get to run, the family get to enjoy a weekend away! What’s not to like?
* T&C’s. Payment in full in advance. Payments cannot be refunded after January 13th 2017 (but places can be transferred)
