Good luck to all competing in Amsterdam next week.
Hard miles now in the bank and just one week of taper to go...
thanks Jon! and to you too! amsterdan is kinda a training run for me so not flat out this time but still will go for it :)
Not long now! Weather is looking to be ok too!
After getting a nasty stomach bug this weekend think it will be man suit fully zipped and a huge dose of f*** the legs.
Good luck to you all. Looking forward to my marathondebut. Hope you all reach your goals.
Jan, Denmark
Good luck guys!! Did this one last year, amazing finish in the stadium.... im just in for the half after running Brussels and Liverpool last week!!
Good luck everyone this weekend.
First calf strain ever in my left leg last week to complement the healing dog bite in my right leg's ankle but should be able to drag myself round !
good luck everyone! Kevin, sore calf too! hoping the windy conditions wont be too bad. this is only a 'training' marathon for my ultras in winter but fingers crossed the calf doesnt play up either!
Well, less than a week out I have caught a cold =( however, while my nose is running, at least my legs are too... fingers crossed, and good luck to all running!
good luck snotty!
Good luck all - I did this one last year. It's a great course if the weather is kind, and Amsterdam is a fantastic place to have a couple of days of R&R after the race.
A week out is the perfect time to catch a cold... all your training is done, and it should be gone by race day!
Believe in yourself ;)
Just arrived weather is fab and what a super flat city :-)
Hoping the weather holds out, bbc forecast says 14degrees for Sunday which would be perfect! 'super flat', I like the sound of that! Bring it on I say! my cold is a bit better, hopefully by race day it will be a distant memory! Not sure if I'm nervous or excited now! (or both!)
All packed and ready to go! Flying from Birmingham in the morning. Excitement and nerves brewing up nicely.

I'm packed too but don't fly until Saturday morning! Good luck!
Following this thread with interest and would love to hear feedback on 2011 event as I'm planning to run amsterdam in 2012. Cheers
Hey Colin will post it all tomorrow, great city thou

Great day, huge positive split again, very flat course
With the only elevation being an overpass at 38k, a little stingy with the goodies
03:54:52
What a beautiful event this is! The weather was perfect, and it was an easy course to run a negative split. Kathleen and I ran together.
03:52:29
Towards the end it was a case of 3 wheels on my wagon BUT the wagon came home. Aimed for 3:44:59 - got 3:52:29. Beer time :)
03:54:53
Great run thanks to hubbie (Jon Wendel), my PT, and my podiatrist.Trained on 5.5 miles in 5 weeks with bum toe,ran neg.splits, felt great!
03:15:08
Over 2 minute negative split and PB of over 14 minutes but not GFA! Still main goal was sub 3:20 for B seed at Comrades 2012 so pretty happy
03:18:44
Great race. New PB and a negative split of around 10minutes- need to improve pacing for the first half!!
02:51:02
What a fantastic event. Great weather, enthusiastic runners and a brilliant course. And to top it off a pb by 44mins!!!
03.00.17 Loved it! Finishing in the Olympic Stadium was AMAZING! And I ran a 13 minute pb and smashed my target of sub 3.05! Would recommend it to anyone, lovely and flat, with a really pretty stretch around the river =)
Hope you all had a succesful run yesterday, i was wondering if anyone else has been thrown stones at by these 14yr olds!
They were throwing stones at the runners and were physically hitting runners!
I'm in total shock about this behaviour!
