In short: So hard. Beautiful countryside. 3rd lady to finish and was presented my medal by World record holder Jonathan Edwards. Amazing day.

In full: Challenging trail marathon the length of Wenlock Edge. The terrain would have been tough going enough without the relentless mud! Fantastic event, beautiful countryside. Picked up medals for third lady and 2nd in age, presented by Jonathon Edwards who is chairman of the Wenlock Olympian Society committee. Very proud to be running, and winning medals, in my hometown and the birthplace of the modern day Olympic games, Much Wenlock. Thank you William Penny Brookes.

    Vikki Sivertsen Says:

Correction..Jonathan Edwards is President of the Wenlock Olympian Society. Not the chairman.

In short: Tough and tiring but fun!

In full: A very well organised event in lovely countryside and surprisingly good weather considering what it has been like of late. Some challenging hills but my main memory will be the mud - mile after mile of mud! Very cheerful and encouraging marshals and a very friendly and approachable Johnathan Edwards who stuck around for most of the day - he didn't even mind shaking my very muddy hand when presenting me with lovely Wenlock Olympian Vets medal. The only disappointment of the day was the medal for all finishers who had been promised something special and got a generic medal which is often given out at 5 and 10k races.

    In short: Mudtastical.

In full: Wonderful fun speeding through very slippery deep mud for quite a few earlyish miles - glimpses of the rolling green countryside through the trees every so often. I paid heavily for this exuberance later on and shuffle-walked the last 8 odd miles, in good company though! Sunshine all the way was a treat. A big tick for scenery and atmosphere. Killer long walk back to the carpark (shuttle bus hopefully next year).
